VISA is a registered non-governmental organization based in Mauritius. It was established in 2001
VISION
VISA has the vision of creating a tobacco-free Mauritius.
AIM
VISA aims to promote public health through tobacco control
GOAL
VISA advocates for the implementation of strong national tobacco control legislation and policies in line with the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control of the World Health Organization (WHO FCTC) with a view to preventing the devastating health, economic, social and environmental consequences of tobacco use.
COLLABORATION
VISA collaborates with local, regional and international partners. It serves as member of the National Steering Committee on Tobacco Control. It is also a member of the African Tobacco Control Alliance (ATCA), a Pan-African network of over 140 civil society organizations (CSOs) and a member of the Framework Convention Alliance (FCA), a global network of over 300 CSOs.
